Job Description

The role involves developing and executing global strategies to promote Esri's GIS technology within the ports and maritime industry, acting as a subject matter expert, building industry relationships, and driving market growth through marketing, business development, and thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee global go-to-market strategies for the port and maritime industry to drive growth and awareness of Esri GIS technology.
  • Represent Esri as a subject matter expert in ports and maritime practices, including port operations, vessel management, environmental compliance, and security.
  • Position Esri as a thought leader through industry participation, conferences, and publications.
  • Forecast industry trends and develop solutions and messaging to address key business challenges and opportunities.
  • Create and execute comprehensive marketing plans and programs to support GIS adoption in the transportation sector.
  • Research and analyze market, technological, and financial factors to identify new business opportunities and underserved areas.
  • Collaborate with product development to incorporate industry feedback and develop tailored solutions.
  • Partner with sales, international teams, and distributors to provide industry expertise, support, and guidance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry associations, trade shows, and networking platforms to promote GIS technology.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of demonstrated leadership and practical experience in a transportation discipline focused on the port and maritime market.
  • Strong GIS experience as it relates to transportation, including some combination of port and maritime planning, environmental compliance, port engineering and operations, maritime inter-agency coordination (such as MARaD, Coast Guard, Army Corps of Engineers), and port asset and maintenance management systems.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, inspire, and achieve goals.
  • In-depth knowledge of development issues, challenges, workflows, and opportunities for improvement using GIS and its practical applications in the port and maritime domain.
  • Experience leading industry strategy, business development, and marketing programs, including creating and managing influence plans, monitoring and reporting on results, coordinating integrated execution teams, and managing budgets.
  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, engineering, public or business administration, GIS, or a related field.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and presentation abilities.
  • Results-oriented ability to write and craft smart, attainable, realistic, time-driven goals with clear lead indicators.
