Job Description

Lead and manage Esri's in-house media relations team to develop strategic communication efforts, build relationships with media and influencers, and effectively promote Esri's GIS technology and mission across various media platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the in-house media relations team to develop and nurture relationships with media outlets, editors, and reporters.
  • Develop and implement Esri's media relations and external communications strategy.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all public relations inquiries and activities.
  • Oversee the creation and management of communication plans for events, campaigns, and initiatives.
  • Identify and secure press interviews and media opportunities for Esri and its subject matter experts.
  • Coach, mentor, and lead the media relations team, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key media, bloggers, and influencers to elevate Esri's brand.
  • Collaborate with senior executives to implement communication strategies and tactics.
  • Create and execute strategic communication plans, analyze results, and improve workflows.
  • Represent PR at Esri events and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in media relations.
  • At least 5 years of experience coaching and managing a team working with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success of securing media placements and working with executive level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated innovative approach to communications strategy for technology companies.
  • Experience in journalist style writing and storytelling.
  • Ability to work on and oversee multiple projects at a time and with tight deadlines.
  • Availability to travel 10-20% of the time to serve in official capacity as lead of PR for Esri.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or related field.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available).

Base salary range of $91,520 to $156,000 USD
