Job Description
The role involves developing and maintaining raster analysis tools for GIS applications, focusing on spatial analysis, cloud computing, and software engineering to support real-world geographic problem-solving and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, build, test, and debug raster analysis software tools
- Design and implement software components following industry-standard patterns
- Analyze and fix software bugs and performance issues using automated testing
- Develop tools for GIS analysis such as surface analysis, hydrology, and multidimensional data
- Collaborate with team to define new GIS tools based on user requirements
- Leverage cloud computing to enhance ArcGIS capabilities
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in C programming.
- Knowledge of distributed, parallel, and GPU accelerated computation.
- Familiarity with SaaS architecture.
- Understanding of interaction between desktop and server online cloud-based analysis, including concepts such as REST, web services, and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of machine learning as a tool for prediction and classification as required by various application areas.
- Bachelor's degree in applied mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, computer science, or geography.
