Job Description
The Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing fire protection systems in high hazard areas at a federal site, ensuring safety and compliance through technical support and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Install fire protection systems in high hazard areas such as chemical processing or explosives storage facilities
- Troubleshoot fire alarm systems to identify and resolve issues
- Perform repairs on fire alarm and fire protection systems
- Test fire alarm systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards
Requirements
- The qualified individual must have the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in providing fire protection system installation, troubleshooting, repair, and testing support for high hazard areas, such as chemical processing facilities or explosives storage facilities.
- Ability to work full-time at a federal site in Indian Head, Maryland, with interaction and support from ERG personnel at the federal site, as well as from ERG s Fairfax and Arlington offices.
- Possession of relevant skills and experience in fire alarm systems, including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and testing.
- The position requires physical ability to perform fire protection system installation, troubleshooting, repair, and testing tasks in high hazard areas.
- Experience working in high hazard environments such as chemical processing facilities or explosives storage facilities.
- The ability to work on a full-time basis at the federal site in Indian Head, MD, with consideration for alternative work schedules.
- The candidate must meet the educational and experience requirements as determined by the salary range, which depends on years and type of experience.
