Job Description

The Air Quality Engineer or Scientist is responsible for managing and executing air quality measurement and monitoring projects, including field sampling, instrumentation testing, data analysis, and reporting, with significant travel to various sites across the country.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute air quality measurement and monitoring projects
  • Engineer, test, and utilize air quality measurement instrumentation
  • Develop work plans, quality assurance plans, health and safety plans, and project reports
  • Conduct field sampling and monitoring at various sites across the country
  • Travel to project sites for sampling and monitoring activities
  • Process and analyze air quality data

Requirements

  • The individual must be highly motivated with the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • The candidate must have experience managing and executing projects and tasks related to air quality measurements and monitoring projects, including community monitoring, near-road monitoring, oil and gas monitoring, methods research, exposure investigations, source testing, and other air-related sampling and monitoring events.
  • The individual must be able to engineer, test, and utilize air quality measurement instrumentation across various projects across the country.
  • The candidate must have experience writing work plans, quality assurance project plans, health and safety plans, and reports for work being performed.
  • Travel to sites to conduct air quality research sampling and monitoring must constitute 25-35% of the work profile, with field travel up to 3-4 consecutive weeks.
  • Data processing skills are essential for this role.
  • The candidate must have at least a basic understanding of air quality measurement instrumentation and sampling methods.
  • The candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • The candidate must be able to meet physical demands associated with traveling and field sampling activities, including working in various environmental conditions.
