Job Description

The Quality Technician is responsible for sampling, testing, and ensuring the quality of raw materials, in-process, and finished products in a manufacturing environment, following safety procedures and maintaining accurate records to meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sample and conduct testing of raw materials, in-process materials, finished goods, and environmental samples to ensure quality standards are met
  • Follow proper workflow procedures and maintain accurate records of testing results
  • Use electronic systems and databases to record, analyze, and store quality data
  • Investigate quality issues, propose solutions, and perform tests to identify sources of problems or evaluate quality improvements
  • Maintain lab equipment and ensure timely calibration
  • Adhere to safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping in the testing environment

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Associates Degree preferred.
  • Certified Quality Technician (CQT) Certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel Spreadsheets, Outlook Emailing, and experience with other databases required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working in a manufacturing or similar environment required.
  • Must be able to conduct sampling and testing of raw materials, in-process materials, finished goods, and environmental samples, measuring quality to client specifications daily.
  • Must follow proper workflow procedures and maintain accurate records of testing results.
  • Must use a working knowledge of various electronic systems and databases for data storage and analysis.
  • Must investigate solutions to quality issues and propose tests or ideas for quality improvements.
  • Must perform occasional special-projects tests to investigate the source of quality issues or study potential quality solutions.
  • Must understand and follow all safety procedures.
  • Must maintain good housekeeping in the work environment.
  • Must maintain lab equipment and ensure timely calibration as necessary.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • Must be willing and able to work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments.
  • Must be willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
  • Must be willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to twelve hours a day.
  • Must be willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
  • Must be willing and able to pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully in accordance with ADA and federal, state, and local standards, including meeting productivity standards.
