Job Description

The Mobile Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy industrial equipment to move raw materials and finished products within a renewable energy production facility, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in the logistics process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy industrial equipment such as front-end loaders, clamp forks, and forest machine track loaders to unload logs and load production equipment.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and report any unsafe or improperly functioning machinery.
  • Monitor and adjust operational parameters in the control room to meet safety, quality, and productivity targets.
  • Perform daily checks and basic maintenance on equipment, including cleaning and greasing.
  • Manage the movement and feeding of different fiber types into the production process according to mix targets.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork related to operations.
  • Conduct daily housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Internal company certification required.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and measurement.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous heavy industrial equipment, driving license, or certification is a plus.
  • Willing and able to operate heavy material moving equipment requiring extended periods of sitting.
  • Willing and able to perform tasks such as occasionally pushing and or pulling and lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, climbing, stooping, and standing.
  • Ability to operate levers with both hands while seated for long periods.
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb and lift items above shoulders occasionally.
  • Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces up to 50 feet on an occasional basis during each shift.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees, in all types of weather conditions.
  • Occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
