The Summer Design Engineer Intern will work with the engineering team to help scale up a renewable energy thermal storage system, gaining hands-on experience in designing innovative high-temperature heat technology for industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in scaling up the 1 MW Commercial Demonstration Product System to a flagship Joule Hive product.
Support the engineering team in designing components and systems for the Joule Hive thermal battery.
Collaborate with engineers to develop and refine structural designs for high-temperature energy storage technology.
Requirements
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Must have a strong interest in renewable energy technology and thermal energy storage systems.
Ability to assist in scaling up a 1 MW Commercial Demonstration Product System to a First-of-a-Kind flagship Joule Hive product.
Willingness to work under the supervision of the Lead Structural Design Engineer and collaborate with the engineering team.
Ability to perform hands-on engineering tasks related to thermal energy systems, structural design, or related areas.
Excellent communication skills to effectively report and document work progress and findings.
Availability to participate in the internship during the summer of 2026.
