Job Description
The position involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting SCADA and DAS systems for utility-scale solar projects, ensuring equipment operation and data communication across multiple sites, with a mix of field and remote work in a collaborative, safety-conscious environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair DAS and SCADA equipment in the field and remotely support activities across multiple sites.
- Prioritize repair work based on impact to plant operation, safety, and performance objectives.
- Ensure PV plant DAS and SCADA systems are operational, calibrated, and in good working order.
- Support troubleshooting and data communication verification for DAS and SCADA systems across various regions.
- Configure and input settings for modems, dataloggers, UPS, and other I C equipment.
- Assist in drafting and updating internal quality control standards and checklists for DAS and SCADA systems.
- Provide on-site support for project implementation and support at the Durham office as needed.
- Support and support troubleshooting of equipment associated with PV plant MET stations and sensors.
- Manage equipment maintenance schedules and support network infrastructure configuration and troubleshooting.
- Provide remote technical assistance to field technicians.
Requirements
- Three years of experience in the Operation Technology field for Solar or Renewable Energy sector SCADA DAS Systems.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and supporting SCADA DAS systems, with experience in protocols and platforms such as Serial, Modbus, DNP3, N3uron, and AlsoEnergy.
- Knowledge of equipment associated with typical PV Plant MET stations including pyranometers, wind speed, and temperature sensors.
- Familiarity with entering settings for reclosers, meters, modems, dataloggers, UPS, and all other I C equipment.
- Ability to work with and manage equipment maintenance schedules using Excel, Smartsheet, or similar technologies.
- Strong IT OT background with hands-on experience supporting, troubleshooting, and repairing computer hardware and software systems used in Renewable operations.
- Network administration skills including configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure such as firewalls, routers (cellular and standard), switches, and servers.
- Experience providing remote technical assistance to on-site field technicians.
- Must be available to work on-site at the Durham office as required for project support and implementation.
- Work is to be performed in the home office and field, with travel approximately 5% of the time.
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures, including wearing PPE such as hard hats, arc flash protection, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License.
- Familiarity with ticketing and work order systems for tracking and resolving support issues efficiently.
