Job Description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that aerospace repair and overhaul processes meet strict quality standards through process evaluation, technical review, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting compliance with industry regulations and OEM requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure procedures and processes comply with company, customer, and regulatory quality standards throughout the repair overhaul lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet industry and regulatory standards in component repair processes.
  • Investigate customer concerns and warranty issues, and document findings and corrective actions.
  • Lead and conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process non-conformances.
  • Review and validate work instructions and technical drawings for OEM and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive continuous process and procedure improvements using problem-solving tools, data analysis, and statistical methods.
  • Provide technical support for specific aerospace products and manufacturing processes.
  • Act as an authorized representative to determine product airworthiness and sign maintenance release and certification documents.
  • Coordinate employee training to ensure qualification and certification per industry standards and FAA-approved procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field with an emphasis in quality preferred.
  • A minimum of five years experience in the field of quality or engineering in the aerospace industry with an emphasis on compliance to domestic and international civil aviation regulations.
  • A minimum of three years shop environment exposure with a general knowledge of processes used in manufacturing.
  • Previous experience and participation in continuous improvement, corrective action and preventative action programs.
  • Previous participation in performing internal and external vendor audits.
  • ASQ certification CQA and or CQE preferred.
  • A demonstrated level of competence in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint including the ability to use basic data processing software and construct general reports.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry is helpful, with familiarity with aircraft engine components considered a plus.
  • Read, speak and write in English fluently.
