Job Description
The Material Handler is responsible for tracking, organizing, and delivering parts through the repair process in a modern aerospace manufacturing environment, supporting production control and ensuring efficient workflow. The role involves physical movement of parts, use of electronic tracking systems, and teamwork to maintain production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Track parts through repair processes and monitor completion times to increase throughput
- Staging, organizing, and verifying parts in storage areas
- Physically move parts between departments using appropriate handling equipment
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including delivering parts to couriers
- Coordinate part shipping, including assigning ship dates and preparing paperwork
- Use electronic tracking systems and RFID technology for part identification and location
- Provide and organize carts, skids, and racks based on departmental needs
- Verify part numbers, serial numbers, and matching documentation
- Support production scheduling by providing priority lists and managing inventory
- Coordinate scrap parts and ensure proper documentation and disposal
Requirements
- One year's experience in a manufacturing environment or similar.
- Experience in the use of skids, pallet jacks, and forklifts lift trucks.
- Ability or experience following directions and reading work instructions.
- High school or technical school graduate or equivalent.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Capable of handling multiple tasks.
- Basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
