Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining equipment and facility systems to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair industrial machinery, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on facility systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Respond to service requests, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with team members, vendors, or contractors.
- Read and interpret technical data, vendor manuals, piping diagrams, and procedures.
- Maintain records of equipment and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA, and building codes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certification.
- A minimum of two (2) years experience as a maintenance technician or similar role.
- Experience in the operation of forklifts and motorized lift equipment.
- Experience in understanding and following verbal and written instructions accurately, including the reading and interpretation of manufacturer guidelines and governmental regulations.
- Valid driver’s license required to operate assigned fleet vehicles.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair industrial machinery and equipment, electrical and mechanical as assigned to ensure functional performance, appearance, and safe conditions.
- Maintain, repair, and ensure the functionality of the physical plant and associated support systems by performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on structural components such as HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other building infrastructure systems.
- Respond to service requests and troubleshoot issues as necessary and coordinate with team members, vendors, or contractors when necessary.
- Independently read and interpret related technical data to include vendor manuals, P&ID piping instrumentation drawings, and procedures.
- Maintain all necessary records on equipment and maintenance.
- Conform to the standards and regulations of OSHA, state and local building codes, and be knowledgeable of NFPA 70E Standards for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
- Work closely with engineering, production, purchasing, and other departments as a member of the organizational team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
