Job Description

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing marine and industrial inventory through ordering, organizing, tracking, and issuing parts for repair orders, ensuring accuracy and safety in a modern aerospace repair environment, with opportunities for skill development and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order, organize, store, track, and issue marine and industrial inventory for repair orders
  • Safely secure and track components and maintain records back to the manufacturer
  • Receive incoming supplies, sign receipts, and review documentation
  • Forecast, procure, manage, and distribute inventory to meet demand while maintaining minimum levels
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders
  • Maintain inventory and purchase order status, pricing information, and communicate delivery updates
  • Perform material audits to ensure inventory accuracy and availability
  • Process parts for return to customers and store customer parts securely
  • Maintain detailed records of inventory receipts, transactions, locations, and disbursements
  • Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement projects

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be capable of, or have experience in creating and maintaining neat, orderly records and basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
  • Ability or experience following directions and reading work instructions.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Careful attention to detail.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks.
  • Work in varying positions from time to time, including standing and sitting for portions of the shift.
  • Move parts weighing 50 pounds using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods.
  • Move less heavy parts weighing 50 pounds with or without hoists, slings, or carts.
  • Follow general shop safety procedures including the use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, gloves, and hearing protection, when required.
  • Use of safety and personal protective equipment is mandatory under some conditions.
  • Pre-employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing.
