Job Description
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing marine and industrial inventory through ordering, organizing, tracking, and issuing parts for repair orders, ensuring accuracy and safety in a modern aerospace repair environment, with opportunities for skill development and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Order, organize, store, track, and issue marine and industrial inventory for repair orders
- Safely secure and track components and maintain records back to the manufacturer
- Receive incoming supplies, sign receipts, and review documentation
- Forecast, procure, manage, and distribute inventory to meet demand while maintaining minimum levels
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders
- Maintain inventory and purchase order status, pricing information, and communicate delivery updates
- Perform material audits to ensure inventory accuracy and availability
- Process parts for return to customers and store customer parts securely
- Maintain detailed records of inventory receipts, transactions, locations, and disbursements
- Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement projects
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be capable of, or have experience in creating and maintaining neat, orderly records and basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
- Ability or experience following directions and reading work instructions.
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Capable of handling multiple tasks.
- Work in varying positions from time to time, including standing and sitting for portions of the shift.
- Move parts weighing 50 pounds using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods.
- Move less heavy parts weighing 50 pounds with or without hoists, slings, or carts.
- Follow general shop safety procedures including the use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, gloves, and hearing protection, when required.
- Use of safety and personal protective equipment is mandatory under some conditions.
- Pre-employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing.
