Key Responsibilities
The Data Center Operations I Manager p rovides direct supervision to professional contributors and/or skilled support to individual contributors . They a ct as a guide to site operations teams, vendors , and contractors and may become actively involved, as required, to meet operational standards, project schedules, and resolve problems . The manager c reates a culture of professionalism and operational excellence, fostering a workplace where people love to work and build a career.
Provide direct supervision to the HPC Data Center Technicians , overall data center supervision, and routine operational plans .
Ensures the team is fulfilling responsibilities on time and projects are progressing, as expected.
Manage payroll , positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching , and development.
Assists with testing and coordinating projects and maintenance.
Plan, coordinate, budget, and implement resources to complete projects and maintenance within the data center.
Meets target typically against a monthly plan.
Assists with new construction commissioning, as necessary, documenting and reporting all problems.
Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident .
Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, a related field , or equivalent experience is required .
5 + years of progressively responsible data center-related experience is required .
1 year of supervisory/leadership experience is required .
Must have a valid driver's license .
Strong leadership and team-building skills are required .
Exceptional understanding of network, electrical, mechanical , and building systems required .
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required .
Working knowledge of HPC computer equipment and network infrastructure required .
