Key Responsibilities
The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining Core Scientific's health, safety, and environment programs across multiple data center and construction operations. This role serves as the primary safety resource for assigned facilities, ensuring compliance with company standards, OSHA requirements, contractor safety expectations, and operational risk management initiatives.
The Regional Safety Manager partners closely with Operations, Construction, Security, HR, Facilities, and Contractors to create a strong, proactive safety culture while driving consistent execution of company safety programs.
Lead the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of company-wide safety programs, policies, procedures, and standards across multiple facilities and projects.
Conduct site inspections, audits, field assessments, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to identify hazards and ensure adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
Develop, maintain, and support site-specific safety plans, procedures, permits, and compliance documentation.
Partner with site leadership, contractors, and project teams to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and promote a culture of safety accountability.
Monitor safety performance metrics, incident trends, and audit findings to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead investigations involving injuries, near misses, property damage, vehicle incidents, environmental releases, and other safety-related events.
Perform root cause analyses, develop corrective and preventive action plans, and track actions through completion to verify effectiveness.
Maintain accurate incident records, regulatory reporting, and documentation while supporting workers' compensation and return-to-work programs.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Support regulatory inspections, insurance audits, client audits, and environmental compliance activities.
Deliver safety training, new hire orientations, contractor onboarding, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and leadership briefings.
Coach managers, supervisors, and employees on safety leadership, hazard recognition, and safe work practices.
Oversee high-risk activities including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), energized electrical work, confined space entry, hot work, work at heights, and permit-to-work processes.
Participate in construction safety reviews, commissioning activities, and contractor safety management to ensure compliance with company standards.
Support environmental programs including spill prevention and response, hazardous materials management, chemical inventories, SDS administration, permitting, and regulatory reporting.
Serve as a trusted advisor to operational and project leadership by identifying emerging risks, recommending practical solutions, and supporting strategic business initiatives.
Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.

Requirements
Required
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
5+ years of progressive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) experience in data centers, critical infrastructure, industrial manufacturing, energy, construction, or similar high-risk environments.
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and occupational safety standards.
Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action management.
Experience developing and delivering safety training programs.
Strong understanding of contractor safety management practices.
Ability to interpret regulations and translate requirements into operational processes.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software platforms.
Preferred
Professional safety certification such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or equivalent.
Experience supporting data center operations, mission-critical facilities, electrical infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects.
Knowledge of NFPA 70E, electrical safety programs, and energy isolation procedures.
Experience with environmental compliance programs, hazardous waste management, and spill prevention requirements.
Experience managing safety performance for contractors and subcontractors.
Familiarity with workers' compensation programs and return-to-work processes.
Experience implementing behavior-based safety or safety culture initiatives.
OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent advanced safety training.
