Key Responsibilities
The Electrician should be an experienced outside lineman, inside wireman, installer technician, electrician, or Master Electrician who has been engaged in the trade for at least seven ( 7 ) years.
The Journeyman will be responsible for performing journey-level electrical duties in the diagnosis, maintenance , and repair of electrical equipment at the assigned data center .
Perform l ighting preventative maintenance.
Perform b attery preventative maintenance and i nverter testing on battery backups for lights .
Perform assigned duties related to r ack moves, deployments, and decommissioning .
Perform preventative maintenance and related s ecurity gate repair .
Responsible for t eam scheduling and material requisition .
Install, maintain , and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes .
Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and necessary repairs .
Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform corrective maintenance .
Plan and lay out electrical wiring, conduit, and fixtures based on blueprints, schematics, and job specifications .
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices (ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, etc.) .
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components .
Maintain s pill Prevention kits for g enerators, s ubstations, etc.
Ability to overcome willpower issues (nonscheduled, high-priority work); u sually, DC floor-related problems are related to cooling .
Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization .
Performs other duties as assigned .
Requirements
Formal vocational school training in the fundamentals of the electrical trade is required .
7 + years of progressively responsible experience in the electrical trade required .
Unlimited e lectrical or c ontractor's license , required .
Must have a valid driver's license .
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Prior military or technical school training, preferred .
Willingness and ability to follow directions from other staff members and management .
Basic understanding of email and MS O ffice software .
A positive and professional attitude is always required , along with a high attention to detail .
Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and in a team environment .
Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and small hand tools .
