Job Description
The Sr. Manager, Development at Copia Power is responsible for overseeing the development of solar projects from early stages through construction and commissioning, coordinating land negotiations, permitting, and interconnection efforts, and ensuring projects meet strategic goals through effective project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the development of solar portfolio projects from early stage through construction and commissioning.
- Coordinate land negotiations, permitting, real estate, and interconnection activities.
- Identify and engage appropriate resources and contractors for project execution.
- Ensure projects stay on track and meet strategic development goals.
- Collaborate with development, asset management, energy markets, legal, and finance teams to support project progress.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in managing the development of solar portfolio projects from early stage through construction and project commissioning.
- Prior experience working with teams managing land negotiations, permitting, real estate, and interconnection for renewable energy projects.
- Sufficient knowledge to coordinate effectively across various areas such as land negotiations, permitting, real estate, and interconnection, and to identify the right resources and contractors for different portfolios.
- Excellent project management skills to ensure all projects stay on track and meet strategic goals.
- Ability to work closely with development, asset management, energy markets, legal, and finance teams as an individual contributor without direct reports.
- Experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects in the renewable energy sector.
