Job Description
The Senior Accountant will support Copia Power's financial reporting and accounting policies, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, managing audits, and analyzing significant contracts within the renewable energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and document accounting policies in compliance with GAAP standards, including ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 810, and ASC 815.
- Develop, implement, and document accounting processes supporting technical accounting policies.
- Support technical accounting analysis of contracts related to offtake, procurement, and construction activities.
- Prepare, analyze, and facilitate the distribution of GAAP and management financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Lead external audits of GAAP financial statements.
- Perform due diligence and risk assessments of potential counterparties' financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation and review of journal entries related to hedging, derivatives, fair value assessments, M&A transactions, and GAAP adjustments.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years professional experience in accounting, including experience in the renewable energy industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CPA license is required.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Office, including advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience with project management software.
- Ability to work in the Salt Lake City, Utah or Lake Oswego, Oregon office a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Ability to travel 3-5 times per year.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
