Job Description

A Senior Techno-economics Analyst at Commonwealth Fusion Systems is responsible for developing and refining economic models to evaluate the financial viability and commercial potential of fusion power plants, supporting business development and stakeholder communication efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine economic models to evaluate the financial viability and commercial desirability of fusion power plants
  • Conduct sensitivity analyses on economic models to identify opportunities for cost and performance improvements
  • Collaborate with internal teams to incorporate economic insights into design, engineering, and R&D processes
  • Support the business development team in communicating the benefits of fusion energy to customers and stakeholders

Requirements

  • The candidate must have experience in developing models critical to evaluating fusion power plants' financial viability and commercial desirability.
  • The candidate must work closely with internal CFS team members to create and evolve economic models.
  • The candidate must have experience in running sensitivity analysis on economic models.
  • The candidate must have the ability to identify opportunities for improvement in economic models and provide input to design, engineering, and R&D on impacts.
  • The candidate must have the ability to communicate the benefits of fusion energy to customers and key stakeholders.
  • The candidate must be able to support the business development team with economic analysis and communication.
  • The candidate must comply with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, known as Export Control Laws.
