The Senior Manager, Equipment Engineering leads the strategic planning, design, development, and operation of manufacturing equipment for high-temperature superconducting magnets, managing a diverse team and collaborating with various departments to support the company's fusion energy production scale-up.
Key Responsibilities
Set strategic direction for manufacturing equipment and tooling for high-temperature superconducting magnets
Manage the design, development, installation, commissioning, and operation of manufacturing equipment
Lead and oversee a team of Equipment Engineers, Mechanical and Controls Engineers, and Equipment Specialists
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Facilities, and Senior Leadership to ensure equipment and process alignment
Manage the equipment engineering budget and drive long-term production scale-up strategies
Requirements
Experience in setting the strategic direction, managing the budget, and overseeing all aspects of the design, development, installation, commissioning, and sustaining operation of manufacturing equipment and tooling for high-temperature superconducting magnets.
Management experience leading a diverse team of Equipment Engineers (Mechanical and Controls) and Equipment Specialists.
Proven ability to ensure high-level collaboration with Manufacturing, Facilities, and Senior Leadership.
Experience in driving long-term production scale-up strategies.
Ability to work in fast-paced environments and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
Compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information (Export Control Laws), with employment contingent upon such compliance.
