Job Description
The Senior Manager, Controls Engineering leads the development and management of automated manufacturing systems for high-temperature superconducting magnets, overseeing the full lifecycle from design to operations, and ensuring technical excellence in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the development and success of automated manufacturing systems for high-temperature superconducting magnets.
- Translate technical strategies into actionable plans and guide the team through the full lifecycle of custom machinery, from design and procurement to commissioning and operations.
- Drive technical excellence and ensure high-quality results within an ambitious production environment.
Requirements
- Experience in leading controls engineering teams or equivalent leadership roles in manufacturing or engineering environments.
- Proven ability to translate technical strategy into actionable plans and guide a team through the full lifecycle of custom machinery, including design, procurement, commissioning, and sustaining operations.
- Hands-on leadership skills with the ability to remove obstacles and ensure high-quality results in an ambitious production environment.
- Strong understanding of automated manufacturing systems, particularly for high-temperature superconducting magnets or similar complex systems.
- Ability to cascade vision and drive technical excellence within a team.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with a focus on integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique.
- Willingness to comply with U.S. export control laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, with the understanding that employment is contingent upon such compliance.
