Job Description

The Process Engineering Manager will lead a team focused on designing and developing FLiBe systems for fusion energy applications, managing resources across projects, and ensuring safety and risk management in a fast-paced, innovative environment at Commonwealth Fusion Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team specializing in the design of FLiBe systems for fusion technology.
  • Balance resource needs across multiple salt process projects to ensure successful delivery.
  • Develop and establish a center of excellence for salt process design within the organization.
  • Contribute to managing engineering and safety risks associated with high-temperature, chemical, and material hazards in test loop environments.

Requirements

  • Experience as an engineering manager with the ability to balance resource needs across diverse projects and grow a center of excellence for salt process design.
  • Proven experience leading a team specializing in the design of FLiBe systems or similar high-temperature, chemical hazard, and new material environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively contribute to a culture of managing engineering risk appropriately while attentively and aggressively managing safety risk.
  • Strong understanding of salt process design, particularly related to FLiBe systems, and the ability to lead a team in expanding operations into larger-scale test loops.
  • Ability to lead and grow a team in a fast-paced environment, aligning with company values of integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique.
  • Willingness to comply with U.S. export control laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, with any employment offer contingent on such compliance.
