Job Description
A Principal Mechanical Engineer responsible for designing and implementing advanced research and development equipment and complex machinery for fusion energy technology, collaborating across engineering teams to ensure safe, reliable, and high-performance systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced R&D equipment and complex machinery
- Collaborate across engineering and technology functions to ensure equipment safety, reliability, and high performance
- Mentor team members and solve complex design problems
Requirements
- The candidate must have strong technical expertise in mechanical engineering related to the design and implementation of advanced research and development equipment and complex machinery.
- The candidate must have procedural discipline in engineering practices.
- The candidate must have the ability to collaborate across engineering and technology functions to ensure the development of safe, reliable, and high-performance equipment.
- The candidate must have experience working on complex design problems in a fast-paced environment.
- The candidate must have experience mentoring other engineers or team members.
- The candidate must be willing to work onsite at Commonwealth Fusion Systems facilities.
