Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer will design, support, and oversee the assembly of structural components and insulation for HTS magnet systems in fusion reactors, collaborating with production, assembly, and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design structural components and insulation for HTS magnet systems
  • Support production, assembly, and procurement processes to ensure timely delivery of components
  • Develop design and analysis documentation, technical specifications, and assembly procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience in the design, production support, and assembly of structural components and insulation, preferably in HTS magnet systems or similar high-tech systems.
  • Ability to work closely with Production, Assembly, and Procurement teams to ensure components meet requirements and are delivered on-time.
  • Proficiency in developing design and analysis documentation, technical specifications, and assembly procedures.
  • Compliance with U.S. export control laws concerning controlled or protected technologies or information.
