Job Description

A hands-on Manufacturing Engineer responsible for overseeing weekend operations in a first-of-a-kind manufacturing environment, ensuring the safe and efficient production of high-temperature superconducting magnets while developing standardized processes for novel challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure safe and efficient production of high-temperature superconducting magnets during weekend shifts.
  • Serve as the technical lead for the 5th Shift, maintaining operational continuity when weekday engineering teams are offline.
  • Develop and implement standardized, repeatable processes to address novel problems in a first-of-a-kind manufacturing environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues arising during manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing workflows and product quality.

Requirements

  • Experience as a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer in a manufacturing environment, with the ability to be the technical anchor for weekend operations and ensure safe and efficient production processes.
  • Ability to turn first encounters with novel problems into standardized, repeatable processes in a First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) manufacturing environment where the product is being designed while the machine is being built.
  • Availability to work the scheduled shift of Friday through Monday overnight, with 10-hour shifts, providing critical coverage during high-intensity weekend builds.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and oversee manufacturing operations independently when the weekday engineering team is offline.
  • Experience in designing and implementing manufacturing processes for high-temperature superconducting magnets or similar advanced technologies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and the ability to ensure safety during high-temperature superconducting magnet production.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address novel manufacturing challenges and develop standardized solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment while maintaining compliance with all safety and operational standards.
  • Understanding of U.S. export control laws and the ability to comply with regulations concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information.

Benefits & Perks

Salary range of $104,000 - $167,000 including 15 shift differential
Work schedule of Friday through Monday overnight, 10-hour shifts
Consecutive days off on Tuesday and Thursday
Critical coverage during high-intensity weekend builds
