Job Description
The Manager, Supply Chain HTS Magnets oversees the procurement, delivery, and supply chain management of high-temperature superconducting magnets critical to fusion technology, collaborating with engineering and production teams to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and risk mitigation in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team responsible for procurement and supplier management of HTS magnet components.
- Drive the end-to-end source selection process for magnet parts and assemblies.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to proactively manage risks and first encounters.
- Innovate supply chains and manufacturing processes for magnet components.
- Contribute to the development of future ARC and SuperBU magnet supply chains.
Requirements
- Experience as a supply chain professional able to Lead a team in charge of strategic and tactical procurement and supplier management.
- Ability to drive the source selection process from end to end.
- Proactive technical and operational risk management skills through remaining SPARC magnet design and first encounters.
- Experience in sourcing and delivery of magnet components with sufficient quality, quickly, and at low cost.
- Ability to collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to manage risks and first encounters proactively.
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively on hard problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated capability to innovate supply chains and manufacturing processes, engage on magnet design producibility, and collaborate on future sourcing strategies.
- Experience leading a team in delivering a broad range of parts and assemblies to multiple locations (CFS1 and SASY).
- Ability to sustain a team through a constant fast pace of visible critical path needs.
- Understanding of supply chain strategies related to future ARC and SuperBU magnet supply chains.
- Compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information (Export Control Laws).
