Job Description
The Lead R D Technician at Commonwealth Fusion Systems is responsible for leading a team in the development and production of high temperature superconducting magnets and assemblies, ensuring operational efficiency and maintenance of equipment while collaborating with various departments to meet project goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team in building high temperature superconducting magnets and assemblies
- Support all aspects of product development and commercialization
- Monitor and troubleshoot production processes
- Ensure functional operation and preventative maintenance of equipment
- Design and build test equipment for various systems
- Coordinate closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality departments
Requirements
- Lead a fast-paced and agile team building high temperature superconducting magnets and assemblies.
- Experience in R&D with all aspects of product development, commercialization, and ongoing manufacturing support.
- Experience in development, prototype production, production process monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
- Ensure functional operation and preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Perform general housekeeping duties.
- Support design and build of test equipment with systems including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, magnetic, cryogenic, vacuum, and pressure systems.
- Close coordination with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and other departments to ensure goals and objectives are met.
