Job Description
An internship position for a Cryogenics Engineer focused on developing cryogenic helium systems to maintain superconducting temperatures for fusion magnets, involving engineering design and analysis within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in engineering design and analysis of cryogenic helium systems
- Support the development of systems to maintain superconducting temperatures for HTS magnets
- Contribute to taking designs from concept to hardware implementation
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a student in an engineering program or related field, seeking an internship position for Fall 2026.
- Ability to work onsite at Commonwealth Fusion Systems facilities (LI-Onsite).
- Interest in engineering design and analysis related to cryogenic helium systems.
- Strong motivation and energetic attitude suitable for a fast-paced, collaborative work environment.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to projects from concept to hardware within short time spans.
- Compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information (Export Control Laws), with employment contingent on such compliance.
