Job Description
An internship position for a Computational Materials Engineer at Commonwealth Fusion Systems, focusing on working within a fast-paced research and development environment to advance sustainable fusion energy technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform computational modeling and simulations of materials relevant to fusion energy applications.
- Analyze and interpret computational data to support materials development and optimization.
- Collaborate with team members to integrate computational findings with experimental research efforts.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. program in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience or coursework in computational materials science, including familiarity with simulation tools and techniques used in materials modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to materials properties and behavior.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced research and development environment.
- Willingness to work onsite at the company's location (LI-Onsite).
- Compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information (Export Control Laws), with employment contingent upon such compliance.
