Job Description
The Fiber Optic Specialist is responsible for assisting R&D and production teams with optical fiber tasks, including splicing, testing, and integrating fibers into designs, while ensuring minimal damage and effective maintenance of equipment. This role requires collaboration with various departments to achieve operational goals and is conducted during the second shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist R&D and production staff with optical fiber work including splicing and testing
- Incorporate fibers into complex design features while minimizing damage and attenuation
- Ensure functional operation and preventative maintenance of equipment
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and other departments to meet goals
- Participate in a multi-disciplinary team and communicate effectively
Requirements
- Assist R&D and production staff with all aspects of optical fiber work such as fiber splicing, testing, and incorporation of fibers into complex design features while minimizing damage and attenuation to the fiber throughout its lifetime.
- Ensure functional operation and preventative maintenance of equipment as well as continuous improvement.
- Close cooperation with Operations, Maintenance, Quality and other departments to ensure goals and objectives are met.
- Participation and clear, concise communication while working with a multi-disciplinary team of technicians and engineers.
- Availability to work second shift from 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM.
