Job Description
The Director of SPARC Plant Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, staffing, and continuous improvement efforts of the SPARC fusion plant to ensure its reliable and efficient performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure ongoing operations of the SPARC plant
- Manage availability of trained staff for daily operations and outage handling
- Oversee preventive maintenance activities
- Maintain stock levels of all necessary consumables
- Lead continuous improvement Kaizen projects
Requirements
- Experience in managing plant operations, including ensuring ongoing operations of a complex facility such as a fusion power plant.
- Ability to ensure trained staff is available for daily operations, handling outages, and conducting preventive maintenance.
- Experience in inventory management to ensure all consumables required to run the plant are stocked and available.
- Proven ability to carry out continuous improvement projects, specifically Kaizen projects.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to oversee and coordinate a team responsible for plant operations.
- Experience in handling plant outages and emergency situations effectively.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance requirements related to plant operations.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment driven by values of integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique.
- Willingness to comply with U.S. export control laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information.
