The Assembly Process Engineer will develop and manage the assembly processes for the SPARC tokamak device, collaborating with design teams to create efficient, safe, and cost-effective assembly procedures and work instructions for technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Create, define, and manage the assembly process for the SPARC tokamak device.
Collaborate with system design teams to determine assembly sequence and key steps.
Organize and designate how sub-assemblies come together to form the complete device.
Identify assembly methods and tools required for construction.
Write work instruction packets for assembly technicians to follow in the field.
Work with multidisciplinary teams to find efficient, cost-effective, and safe assembly solutions.
Requirements
Experience in creating, defining, instructing, and managing assembly processes for complex devices, including collaboration with system design teams on sequence and key steps.
Ability to organize and designate how various sub-assemblies will come together to create a larger device or system.
Proficiency in identifying assembly methods and tools required for assembling large, complex components.
Experience in writing work instruction packets for assembly technicians to use in the field.
Ability to collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physicists and engineers, to find the most efficient, creative, cost-effective, and safest assembly methods.
Experience in guiding and organizing the assembly of large, multi-million-pound components or devices.
Knowledge of assembly processes for large-scale scientific or engineering equipment, preferably in fusion or related high-precision fields.
Compliance with U.S. export control laws concerning controlled or protected technologies or information.
Ability to work onsite at the specified location (implied by 'LI-Onsite').
