The role involves providing economic advice on competition policy, regulation, and related legal proceedings, including analyzing mergers, cartels, and market behavior, and communicating complex economic analyses to clients and authorities.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with academics, attorneys, and clients on economic, finance, and strategy issues
Develop and present client deliverables, including expert reports and analyses
Design complex economic and financial models to analyze data
Manage research processes and supervise, train, and mentor junior analysts
Ensure accuracy and integrity of analyses and opinions
Provide economic analyses in judicial proceedings related to mergers and competition matters
Assist with recruiting and training new colleagues
Requirements
Master's or PhD degree with focused study in economics or another quantitative discipline
Extensive and relevant experience of 7-11 years, preferably in economics antitrust consulting
Demonstrated understanding of economic concepts, competition regulatory authorities, and quantitative and qualitative analysis methods
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Experience managing and developing teams of junior colleagues
Strong achievement in a graduate degree program
Ability to independently conceptualize and identify issues, and design complex economic and financial models to analyze economic and financial data
Ability to work closely with leading academics, attorneys, and clients in industry and government on finance, strategy, and economics issues
Experience assisting with the development and presentation of client deliverables including expert reports summarizing opinions, conclusions, and recommendations
Experience managing the research process, supervising, training, and mentoring junior analysts
Experience working with those testifying in judicial proceedings to provide economic analyses of mergers and other competition matters before major competition authorities
Ability to ensure the integrity and accuracy of analyses and opinions
Experience with client interaction and executive client presence and interaction skills
Ability to work in a flexible work environment with at least 3 to 4 days per week working in the office, including travel to other CRA offices or client meetings
