Key Responsibilities
Provide economic analyses of mergers and competition matters for judicial proceedings and regulatory agencies.
Work alongside experts to contribute to competition case work and influence major competition cases.
Apply tools such as merger simulation, econometrics, bargaining theory, and game theory to case analyses.
Communicate complex economic analyses clearly in court or before regulatory authorities.
Conduct research and develop economic and financial models to analyze data.
Oversee statistical analysis using software like Stata, SAS, R, or Python.
Manage research processes and supervise, train, and mentor junior analysts.
Develop and present client deliverables, including expert reports and data summaries.
Engage with clients, attorneys, and industry experts to support case work and strategic advice.
Contribute to practice development activities such as training, recruiting, and publication.
Requirements
A good first degree in economics and a postgraduate degree qualification such as MSc, MPhil, or PhD from well-regarded institutions with focused study in economics or a related specialism such as industrial organisation, statistics, or econometrics.
Extensive and relevant experience of 5-9 years in competition policy economic consulting or related fields.
Demonstrated understanding of economic concepts, competition regulatory authorities, and quantitative and qualitative analysis methods.
Fluency in English.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Experience managing and developing teams of junior colleagues.
Extensive executive client presence and interaction skills.
