Job Description
The Engineering Manager will lead and develop a team of engineers working on innovative process observability projects at Celonis, focusing on fostering collaboration, managing technical delivery, and driving strategic goals within a fast-paced SaaS environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Network Engineering team in Bangalore to achieve their mission
- Oversee team performance and support career development of engineers
- Build and maintain a culture of trust, ownership, and collaboration within the team
- Drive hiring processes and grow the engineering team
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and other leads on goals, strategies, and processes
- Promote team collaboration and resolve impediments quickly
- Ensure technical decisions are aligned with overall objectives and facilitate team success
- Define and divide responsibilities among team members for efficient workflow
- Communicate progress and updates transparently to stakeholders
- Support the team by actively participating in technical and operational tasks as needed
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in an Engineering Manager role with a track record of successfully delivering large-scale technical projects
- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
- Strong technical knowledge
- 5 years of experience in software development with overall 10 years of experience in the Software engineering field
- Experience working with Java, JavaScript or TypeScript, Node.js, microservices
- Working experience in DevOps, Docker, and CI/CD concepts and technology
- Proficiency in establishing and handling agile development methodologies and lean principle techniques (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Continuous Delivery)
- Proficiency in project management, relationship building, and stakeholder management
- Strong understanding of at least one of the Business Domains that Celonis operates in (Order Management, Procurement, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable are a plus)
- Ability to resolve technical conflicts and provide a positive environment for escalations
- Strong communication skills in English, allowing collaboration across business and technical domains
- Readiness to roll up your sleeves to help your team
- Experience in managing and supporting the performance and career development of engineers
- Experience in building and maintaining an engineering culture of trust, ownership, and collaboration
- Experience in defining and dividing responsibilities among engineering team members to ensure cohesive and efficient workflow
- Experience in managing team performance and supporting career development
- Experience in collaborating with Product Managers, Architects, and other leads on goals and strategies
- Experience in hiring new engineers and growing the careers of existing team members
- Ability to ensure technical decisions are aligned with overall objectives and facilitate team success
- Knowledge of cloud providers and Kubernetes (preferred but not mandatory)
