Job Description

This role involves developing and upstreaming advanced open source network software for data center and enterprise environments, focusing on networking hardware acceleration, software-defined networking, and collaboration with global partners to deliver innovative, secure, and high-performance networking solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver open source networking software for data center and enterprise environments
Collaborate with upstream projects, public clouds, and network silicon providers
Design and implement software-defined networking solutions
Debug issues and produce high-quality, secure, and well-documented software fixes
Contribute to technical documentation and open source communities
Provide technical leadership and influence open-source projects
Engage in continuous learning and contribute to the development of networking technologies

Requirements

An exceptional academic track record with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about an alternative path
Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations
Knowledge of networking architecture, design, and protocols
Understanding of Linux networking, from kernel to user space
Fluency in C and at least one of Rust, Python or Golang
Professional written and spoken English
Experience with Linux
Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
Passion, thoughtfulness, and self-motivation
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments
Ability to travel twice a year, for company events up to two weeks each
