Job Description
This role involves developing and upstreaming advanced open source network software for data center and enterprise environments, focusing on networking hardware acceleration, software-defined networking, and collaboration with global partners to deliver innovative, secure, and high-performance networking solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver open source networking software for data center and enterprise environments
- Collaborate with upstream projects, public clouds, and network silicon providers
- Design and implement software-defined networking solutions
- Debug issues and produce high-quality, secure, and well-documented software fixes
- Contribute to technical documentation and open source communities
- Provide technical leadership and influence open-source projects
- Engage in continuous learning and contribute to the development of networking technologies
Requirements
- An exceptional academic track record with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about an alternative path
- Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations
- Knowledge of networking architecture, design, and protocols
- Understanding of Linux networking, from kernel to user space
- Fluency in C and at least one of Rust, Python or Golang
- Professional written and spoken English
- Experience with Linux
- Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
- Passion, thoughtfulness, and self-motivation
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments
- Ability to travel twice a year, for company events up to two weeks each
