This role involves developing and executing sales strategies for Canonical's embedded Linux and IoT software solutions, building relationships with clients, and achieving sales targets in a technical and fast-paced environment focused on open source and enterprise software.
Key Responsibilities
Build and execute a territory sales plan targeting security-focused brands and manufacturers
Develop pipeline through outreach, prospecting, local marketing, and industry events
Close contracts to meet or exceed quarterly and annual bookings targets
Manage customer relationships throughout all stages of the sales cycle
Collaborate with Field Engineers to understand customer requirements and ensure satisfaction
Maintain accurate data and forecasts within Salesforce
Establish relationships with key influencers and decision-makers
Coordinate with colleagues across support, delivery, and management teams
Requirements
Undergraduate degree in a technical subject
Experience with Linux Debian or Ubuntu preferred
Track record of achievement of sales targets and large account wins
Field sales experience in embedded Linux, embedded software, or enterprise software
Ability to build and execute a territory sales plan to prioritize security-focused brands and manufacturers
Experience developing pipeline through outreach, prospecting, local marketing, and industry events
Proven ability to close contracts to meet and exceed quarterly and annual bookings targets and achieve strategic objectives
Experience managing customer relationships and interactions through all stages of the sales cycle
Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with key influencers and decision-makers
Experience working with colleagues, including support, delivery, and management, to coordinate account strategy
Ability to understand customer requirements and ensure customer satisfaction by working with Field Engineers
Maintaining accurate data and forecasts within Salesforce
Excellent professional written and spoken English with presentation skills
Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
Confidence to respectfully speak up, exchange feedback, and share ideas without hesitation
Personal drive to meet commitments and result-oriented attitude
Willingness and ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long
Willingness to travel up to 50% for customer meetings and industry events
Detail-oriented with effective follow-up skills
