Job Description

This role involves leading the development, quality oversight, and coordination of technical documentation for large, complex projects, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and guiding project teams through design and construction phases, primarily within institutional or commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, assembly, and quality oversight of technical documentation for large or multiple projects.
  • Manage and monitor integrated quality review processes across all disciplines.
  • Coordinate project status updates, risk assessments, and staffing for quality reviews.
  • Develop and implement strategies for continuous proactive quality engagement.
  • Guide the creation and updates of the Project Quality Plan and technical document standards.
  • Review and oversee planning of phase deliverables and technical documentation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and project-specific requirements.
  • Monitor coordination among disciplines and external consultants to ensure project quality.
  • Manage phase quality reviews, technical charettes, and peer review processes.
  • Support decision-making and technical problem-solving within the project team.
  • Mentor staff to foster a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  • Monitor project metrics to identify and address potential risks early.
  • Lead technical aspects of construction documentation and administration on large projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor degree in a relevant field required.
  • Minimum 12 years of related professional experience.
  • Experience includes 5 years in increasingly responsible roles in construction documentation on institutional and or commercial projects.
  • At least 3 years in a responsible role in construction administration on large institutional and or commercial projects.
  • Prior experience on S T projects is required.
  • Experience leading all technical aspects with production teams on large, complex projects of more than 200 million dollars in construction costs.
  • Must have experience designing, documenting, coordinating, and administering the construction of significant S T projects.
  • Expertise in S T codes, standards, and familiarity with proven solutions to address conflicting requirements between building authorities, client needs, construction technologies, and insurance provisions.
  • Current Architectural Registration in the United States and the ability to obtain Architectural Registration in California required.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Must be able to lead large, complex, or multiple projects.
  • Strong subject matter expertise in technical leadership, building codes, and requirements.
  • Must possess strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrated focus on quality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for client-facing roles.
  • Strong coordination skills and the ability to build rapport with the project team and client.
  • Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
