Job Description
A Senior Marketing Specialist at CannonDesign is responsible for developing and managing marketing materials, leading pursuit strategies, supporting brand visibility activities, and collaborating with internal teams to enhance the firm's market presence and win new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development of proposal materials and coordinate production across all stages of pursuit processes.
- Drive strategic pursuit activities from proposal coordination through interviews to secure wins.
- Create and update marketing collateral such as resumes, presentations, and portfolio pages within brand standards.
- Manage local marketing activities including sponsorships, awards, events, and photography to enhance brand visibility.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the firm's portfolio, personnel, and offerings to support marketing initiatives.
- Support training and quality oversight for marketing team members.
- Maintain and update client and pursuit information in Deltek Vantagepoint and other systems.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in a marketing or communications role for a professional services firm required.
- 7 years of related work experience in marketing or communications preferred.
- Related experience working in the Architecture, Engineering, and/or Construction industry preferred.
- Must be proactive, self-driven, organized, detail-oriented and have an enthusiasm for innovation.
- Strong time and project management skills are essential, along with the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Must have the ability to drive large, complex pursuits end-to-end.
- Solid skills in strategic thinking, writing and design with the potential and/or interest to further develop and excel in at least one of these areas.
- Strong proficiency with InDesign, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Expertise in Deltek Vantagepoint, Sharepoint, Open Asset, and Miro is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and recognize and manage individual priorities.
- Ability to develop creative ideas for proposals and interview content.
- Ability to collaborate with marketing peers, client leaders, and cross-functional teams to develop pursuit strategies and marketing materials.
- Ability to create and update resumes, portfolio pages, presentations and related marketing materials using design templates and working within brand standards.
- Ability to support training and ongoing development of Marketing Specialists and provide peer review and oversight for content accuracy and quality.
- Ability to maintain and update Deltek Vantagepoint for clients and pursuits, and properly maintain a proposal filing system.
- Excellent communication skills to establish highly responsive, trusted relationships with pursuit leaders.
- Willingness to travel as required to CannonDesign offices in the Great Lakes region, including Chicago, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh.
- Must complete mandatory training, including compliance training, within required timeframes and adhere to internal policies and the Code of Conduct.
- Candidates are required to submit a cover letter and 2-3 work samples that they held the primary role in creating, including at least 1 writing sample (e.g., project descriptions, employee bios, proposal cover letters).
