Job Description
This role involves leading and developing the Seattle and Portland market within CannonDesign by driving business growth, managing client relationships, leading project teams, and promoting the firm's design philosophy, with a focus on strategic market expansion and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop high-performance, diverse teams focused on market growth and client engagement.
- Develop and execute the Market Business Plan to drive strategic initiatives and market differentiation.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve revenue growth targets, including a minimum of 10% annual practice growth.
- Lead client relationships at high levels, managing billable project work and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Represent the firm externally through speaking engagements, writing, and other activities to enhance market brand visibility.
- Manage and support practice activities that advance the firm, the region, and the market, including recruiting and mentoring staff.
- Drive top-line revenue growth by targeting new clients and nurturing existing client relationships.
- Achieve financial targets, including a market net signed fee goal of $3 million annually and at least 10% profitability.
- Assess market trends and opportunities, demonstrating expertise in best practices and evidence-based design.
- Collaborate with leadership to implement business plan initiatives and ensure market profitability and growth.
- Mentor, assess, and recruit staff to build a high-performing, inclusive team and develop future leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
- Current Registration Licensure in Architecture, Interior Design, or Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience with a proven track record of strategic growth, market and team leadership, and business development success in the S T Market.
- Strong presentation skills are essential.
- Exceptional client and people leadership skills are required.
- Professional acumen and maturity demonstrated by the ability to communicate authentically and respectfully are essential.
- Strong business acumen and proven ability to create and execute strategy are needed.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing, accountable teams.
- Must be able to demonstrate sound judgement and a sound approach regarding risk management and mitigation.
- Some travel is required.
