This position involves leading electrical engineering design and project management for building construction projects across various sectors, including healthcare, education, and commercial, with responsibilities ranging from system design and documentation to site visits and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical engineering systems design for building construction.
Develop project designs, goals, and systems in collaboration with the team.
Lead or participate in project planning, meetings, and teamwork sessions.
Serve as project manager or engineering leader, managing project responsibilities and goals.
Design electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and telecommunication systems.
Prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications.
Guide less experienced team members in executing drawings and specifications.
Specify electrical equipment and conduct quality control checks of engineering documents.
Participate in value engineering sessions to improve design quality and efficiency.
Review and markup shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, and review change orders.
Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
Attend and participate in construction meetings and site walk-throughs.
Requirements
Minimum of 8 years of related experience in electrical engineering.
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States.
Strong knowledge of Life Safety Codes.
Ability to work independently in all electrical disciplines with no oversight or guidance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be a critical thinker and highly analytical.
Ability to engage effectively with clients.
Fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work.
Able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, AGI32, Visual, SKM Power Tools.
