This position involves designing plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems for various construction projects, managing project documentation using Revit BIM, and coordinating with clients and teams to ensure successful project delivery within budget and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Design ductwork, piping, and equipment selection for plumbing and fire protection systems.
Prepare Revit BIM models of construction drawings for plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems.
Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Coordinate work activities with project team members and participate in project meetings.
Respond to RFIs, review change orders, and assist in the preparation of construction documents.
Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
Assist with HVAC design as needed.
Research and respond to emergent technical issues.
Participate in business development and marketing activities.
Requirements
Associate degree in a relevant field required.
Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
Must possess a current CPD, PE in Mechanical or FPE license in the United States preferred.
LEED accreditation preferred.
Must possess a working knowledge and experience in mechanical design, while still acquiring higher level knowledge.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus required.
