This position involves supporting the design and development of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for various building projects under the supervision of a licensed engineer, utilizing engineering software and participating in construction documentation and site visits.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in designing HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, controls, and equipment selection.
Support plumbing and fire protection system designs as needed.
Prepare building load calculations and energy models using modeling software under supervision.
Contribute to Revit BIM modeling of construction drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Coordinate with specifications as part of the design team.
Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents.
Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required by hire date.
Knowledge and ability to apply principles and theories of advanced heat transfer, solar energy, and advanced fluid dynamics in the design of HVAC systems.
Related student internship work experience preferred.
EIT (Engineer in Training) or LEED accreditation preferred.
Must have strong communication, teamwork, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects.
Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus preferred.
