Job Description
A Marketing Specialist at CannonDesign supports proposal development, brand marketing activities, and market research to enhance the firm's visibility and win pursuits, working collaboratively across teams in a remote, regional role within the architecture, engineering, and construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the development of proposal materials and coordinate production across all stages of pursuits.
- Collaborate with teams to develop pursuit strategies from client engagement to proposal and interview stages.
- Create and update marketing materials such as resumes, portfolio pages, and presentations within brand standards.
- Support regional marketing activities including sponsorships, awards, events, and photography to enhance brand visibility.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the firm's portfolio, personnel, and offerings, and build subject matter expertise.
- Review and ensure the accuracy and quality of marketing content and maintain related systems like Salesforce and proposal filing.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with pursuit leaders and participate in external marketing activities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field required.
- A minimum of 3 years of related work experience working in a marketing or communications role for a professional services firm required.
- Proficiency with InDesign, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Must be proactive, self-driven, organized, detail-oriented and have an enthusiasm for innovation.
- Strong time and project management skills are essential, along with the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Fundamental abilities in strategy, design, and writing, with demonstrated capacity for advancement in at least one of these areas.
- Ability to develop and support proposal materials including coordination and production of deliverables across all stages of the process.
- Ability to assist with production tasks on complex pursuits in collaboration with pursuit team.
- Ability to collaborate with marketing teammates, other BMBD team members and Client Leaders to develop pursuit strategies starting with client engagement, leading to proposal then interview to secure the win.
- Ability to create and update resumes, portfolio pages, presentations and related marketing materials using design templates and working within brand standards.
- Ability to participate in the development of collateral that supports markets, offices, and services.
- Ability to provide marketing research for overall market office strategy, as well as for individual clients and pursuits.
- Ability to support local regional marketing activities such as sponsorships, award submissions, events and photography.
- Ability to develop strong, in-depth knowledge of the firm’s portfolio, personnel, and offerings.
- Ability to develop subject matter expertise across markets, typologies, services, technology or other areas that add value to marketing initiatives and pursuit activities.
- Ability to provide peer review and oversight for accuracy and quality of content.
- Ability to self-review all work for accuracy and quality of content.
- Ability to maintain and update Salesforce for clients and pursuits.
- Ability to properly and accurately maintain a proposal filing system.
- Ability to internalize marketing best practices.
- Ability to establish highly responsive, trusted relationships with pursuit leaders.
- Travel may be required to CannonDesign offices in the West region, including Denver, Irvine, Los Angeles, Portland, San Diego, and Seattle.
