Job Description
The position involves joining a multi-faceted experiential design team to create innovative visual communication and wayfinding solutions, addressing client challenges through design. Candidates will participate in all phases of the design process, from conceptual development to production, while collaborating with clients and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Involvement in all phases of the design process from conceptual development through artwork production.
- Participate in recommendations for concept, design, art direction, and production for graphics, signage, and exhibits.
- Design a variety of two- and three-dimensional graphics, maps, and print layouts for exhibits and signage.
- Work with clients to interpret and translate their needs into design concepts.
- Prepare photo visualizations and mockups of proposed signage.
- Prepare camera-ready artwork for fabrication.
- Collaborate with vendors, fabricators, and outside consultants.
- Maintain accurate files and records.
- Mentor less experienced team members.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Graphic Design, Architecture, or related design field required.
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience required.
- Exceptional design portfolio and strong background in typography is essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well collaboratively.
- Demonstrated skill and interest in 3-dimensional design, wayfinding, exhibition design and environments.
- Working knowledge and experience in all phases of design process for medium to large projects.
- Basic understanding of project management.
- Must be analytical and an independent thinker.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Proficiency on Mac in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign required.
- Completion of mandatory training, including compliance training, within required timeframes.
