This role involves designing electrical systems for construction projects across various sectors, including healthcare, education, and commercial buildings, with responsibilities such as creating drawings, specifications, site visits, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design electrical engineering systems including lighting, power distribution, communications, telecommunication, and fire alarm systems for building projects.
Create and analyze construction drawings and specifications for electrical systems.
Review and markup shop drawings and submittals.
Respond to RFIs and review change orders to support construction documents.
Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and monitor construction progress.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor in Engineering or Bachelor in Technology required.
Minimum of 4 years of related experience required.
Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs i.e. Revit required.
Apply knowledge of electrical code for the application of building power distribution design and circuiting.
Perform basic to moderately complex construction drawings and specifications of electrical engineering systems for building construction.
Design lighting, power distribution, communications and or telecommunication systems for healthcare, education higher education and commercial clients, including fire alarm systems, under limited supervision.
Analyze engineering documents and layout systems in regard to components and parts.
Research and respond to design issues.
Participate in value engineering sessions with Architectural Engineering team.
Assist in the review and markup of shop drawings and submittals.
Assist in gathering information to respond to RFI s and review of change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, which frequently requires a physical walk-through of site.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
LEED accreditation preferred.
