Job Description
This role will be assisting with the drilling operations for geothermal energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- (Management may amend or assign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time)
- Assist the Lead Driller in daily drilling operations, including setting up and operating drilling equipment.
- Monitor and maintain equipment during the drilling process, ensuring it is functioning properly and troubleshooting when necessary.
- 100% travel required in the greater Northeast Region of the United States - CT, MA, NY, ME, VT, NH, NJ, MD
- Handle and prepare drilling tools, pipes, and other equipment for use during operations.
- Transport equipment and materials to and from the drill site as needed: GTD-35, Fraste FS250, Fraste FS275, Sonic, Reich Drill PTO69, Fratse Mito 4, Comacchio MC5, Comacchio Geo600
- Follow safety protocols and ensure the worksite is organized and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the operation of mud systems, pressure control equipment, and other drilling-related systems.
- Keep accurate records of daily drilling activities, including work progress, downtime, and equipment performance.
- Support the team with general labor tasks, such as setting up rig structures, managing materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on tools and equipment.
- Ensure that the proper safety and environmental standards are met during all phases of drilling operations.
- Communicate effectively with the drilling team and report any issues or concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- All other duties and projects assigned.
- This position has supervisory responsibility.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Active CDL strongly preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- SST Card required.
- Prior experience operating drilling equipment is a must.
- Understands and follow utility locate law and compliance procedures, safety protocols, instructions, and quality regulations.
- 5+ years of construction and/or drilling experience (either NY, NJ, CT, MA Master Drilling license a plus); NGWA certification preferred.
- Experience with geothermal heat pumps.
- Travel required 100% in the greater Northeast Region of the United States - CT, MA, NY, ME, VT, NH, NJ
- Must be willing to be away from home Monday through Friday & scheduled Saturdays.
- Lodging will be provided for overnight stays.
