At Bloom Energy, our vision for a world powered by clean, reliable, and affordable energy is more than just a dream—we’re making it reality.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and own robust, scalable and modular Mechanical system designs for Balance of Plant of next-generation Bloom energy systems including Carbon Capture and Heat Integration
Act as the single point focal for developing reference designs for mechanical and piping systems for mechanical dominant systems such as CHP, cooling, air and heat management, air and water filtration, water condensation, cryogenic systems for carbon capture for large-scale Giga sites.
Drive reference architecture and design standardization of mechanical systems
Lead development of concept, FEED and Detailed engineering packages by working with external engineering consultants while ensuring alignment with Bloom standards and scalability across deployments.
Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams (process, electrical, civil, and controls) for integrated system design.
Provide technical oversight across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Drive design optimization, cost efficiency, constructability, and continuous improvement across projects.
Ensure all designs incorporate fire & safety standards, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements for industrial and energy installations.
Work closely with the Customer Installation Group (CIG) to support efficient execution of large-scale site deployments.
Contribute significantly to engineering design development, specification and review of piping network related to mechanical systems, including review of system layouts, equipment sizing, specifications, piping design, PFDs, P&IDs and HAZOPS etc.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with evidence of exceptional ability
20 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining mechanical systems such as utility systems, compression systems, air handling and filtration systems, cooling systems, CHP, and heat integration systems
Expertise in piping systems design related to mechanical systems for industrial or energy infrastructure projects is a plus
Deep understanding of process equipment, piping systems, and plant layout design desired
Experience working with EPC companies, consultants, and multi-disciplinary engineering teams and experience in developing and reviewing FEED packages and reference designs
Strong understanding of engineering standards, codes, and best practices.
Ability to review and validate complex engineering deliverables with high attention to detail.
Experience with large-scale industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
