Performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on buildings requested by clients.
Prioritizes daily activities and work order scheduling. Keeps management informed on progress and delays of all preventive maintenance work orders, related jobs, and other repair activities to help assist with efficient and adequate utilization of staff and resources.
Ensures timely completion of properly authorized work orders in a cost effective manner.
Responds to client questions on contracted maintenance activities and decisions in resolving problems in a professional and timely manner.
Interacts courteously with the client staff, vendors and public; maintains effective working relationships with other staff; cooperates with and follows directions of Supervisor to effectively meet departmental and client objectives.
Strong knowledge of skilled trades, such as HVAC, electrical or carpentry
Excellent understanding of mechanical systems and parts
Participates in safety training and meetings and uses safe working practices at all times.
Responds to emergencies as requested and may coordinate after-hours work activities and repairs.
Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes.
Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 3 years of proven facilities experience preferred
Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Systems (CMMS) preferred.
Able to work efficiently with cross-functional team.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at a time.
Ability to understand and resolve facilities/equipment repair issues independently
Superior communication skills (written, verbal, and active listening)
Highly motivated self-starter, capable of self-management with little to no oversight
Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish effective cross-functional working relationships
Strong requirement to have knowledge of MS Office including Power Point, Excel, and Word
Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours per shift
Navigate the facility throughout the day
Occasionally lift/carry up to 25–50 lbs
Use hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shift
Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials
Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff
Demonstrates competency in written and verbal English communications to understand safety protocols, hazard communications, and standard operational procedures (SOPs) required to ensure the safety of the employee and others on the manufacturing floor.
