Job Description
The role involves designing and developing user-centric, manufacturable solutions for self-driving vehicle integration, collaborating closely with engineering and OEM partners to iterate prototypes, refine designs, and ensure seamless platform integration for autonomous vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop user-centric design solutions for self-driving kit vehicle integration and user interactions.
- Create sketches, CAD models, and visual assets to communicate design concepts.
- Collaborate with engineering and OEM partners to ensure design feasibility and performance.
- Work with vehicle teams to ensure seamless platform integration, including mounting, protection, and serviceability, applying DFM principles.
- Prototype and test designs to validate decisions and identify potential issues early.
- Coordinate with OEM partners and suppliers to align requirements and support manufacturing documentation.
Requirements
- 3 to 6 years of experience in industrial, automotive or product design.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong execution and a grasp of the end to end process from discovery through DFM refinement.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Alias, Keyshot or similar for A-Surface design iteration development and visualization.
- Strong sketching skills used as a thinking tool and high fidelity presentation tool internally and externally.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection molding, CNC, sheet metal, etc.
- Experience collaborating with engineers on complex products.
